A luminous Edwardian treasure by Murrle Bennett & Co, this 9ct Gold drop necklace glows with approximately 6.95ct of Foiled Garnets. The saturated claret-red gems are beautifully flat-cut and foiled to radiate a warm inner fire, arranged in an elegant, articulated cascade with a square centre framed by graduated round and teardrop accents. Each collet-linked section moves fluidly, catching the light with every turn.

Signed “MB & Co” for Murrle Bennett & Co, the design marries refined craftsmanship with a romantic, girandole-inspired silhouette. Rich 9ct Gold throughout—settings, chain, clasp and connectors—perfectly complements the vivid Garnets for a sophisticated, timeless finish.

ERA: Edwardian (1901–1909).

MEASUREMENTS: Chain is 16" (40.5cm) long.
Pendant drop is 48.5mm long.
Links measure 2.5mm wide.
Round Garnets graduate from 2mm to 6.5mm in diameter, weighing approx. 4.05ct combined.
Teardrop Garnets graduate from 7.5mm long x 3mm wide to 8.5mm long x 4mm wide, weighing approx. 1.46ct combined.
Square flat cut Garnet measures 8.5mm long x 8.5mm wide, weighing approx. 1.44ct combined.
Total Garnet weight is approx. 6.95ct.
WEIGHT: 10.8g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Foiled Garnets (6.95ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
