Sold

Crafted from the 18ct Gold, this exceptional English Georgian ring, dated to 1784, carries with it beauty, exquisite craftsmanship and a fascinating historical connection!

The reverse is engraved: “ob 27 March 1784 at 73. GPH of Arms” and bears a tiny glazed panel, a typical feature of high-status Georgian mourning jewellery. The inscription refers to Ralph Bigland, Garter Principal King of Arms, the most senior herald at the College of Arms in London, who served from 1780 until his death in 1784.
