An exquisite Georgian 9ct Gold flat-cut Garnet and Pearl pendeloque pendant, alive with rich crimson colour and graceful movement. This wonderfully elaborate jewel features an arrangement of round, oval and pear-shaped Garnets, their varied forms creating an elegant, elongated silhouette typical of the romantic grandeur of Georgian jewellery.

The Garnets, weighing approximately 6.00ct combined, glow in sumptuous shades of deep red and vivid scarlet as they catch the light. Delicate Pearls trace the articulated sides of the pendant, while three suspended Garnet drops sway freely beneath the impressive central stone. The reverse reveals beautifully rounded closed-back settings, adding to the unmistakably antique character of the piece.

Full of movement and exceptional period charm, this is a particularly striking Georgian jewel that makes a magnificent focal point worn from a simple Gold chain.

ERA: Georgian (1714–1837).

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant measures 52.5mm long including jump ring.
Pendant measures 17.5mm wide.
Round Garnet measures 7mm in diameter x 3mm deep.
Smaller teardrop Garnets measure 5mm long x 4mm wide x 3mm deep.
Larger teardrop Garnets measure 8mm long x 5mm wide x 3mm deep.
Pearls measure 2mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 3.8g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, Garnet, Pearl.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Condition

VERY GOOD: This pendant is exquisitely preserved considering its Georgian age, with the Garnets retaining their wonderfully rich colour and the articulated design presenting beautifully. There is some age-related wear to the Pearls, commensurate with a piece of this considerable age, but this does little to detract from its impressive overall appearance.
